Welcome to SARP Mindfire
What life lessons you have learned from Indian IT Industry

There is no shortage of jobs. There is only shortage of skilled and willing people. There are lot of jobs available in the market. One needs to know how to hunt them. Even if you are fired, you can actually get another job with a increased salary. Recession and layoffs are temporary as long as one is ready to reskill and upskill.

Your salary is only as good as your imagination. Most people tend to compare their salaries with other colleagues and end up being under paid. If you are paid Rs 5 LPA and your colleague is paid Rs 7LPA then you tend to make Rs 7LPA as your target. This is a mistake because you never know that the job is actually worth Rs 9 LPA and the employer will pay you Rs 9 LPA if you negotiate well.

Networking and relationships are the number one reason why some people get more opportunties/ promotions than others.

Wondering why someone is always at the right place at the right time is a waste of time. Focus should be on learning why and how these folks are always at the right place at the right time and what should we do to put these learnings into practice.

The system always pulls up the right candidate. You will hear a lot of people talk about politics at workplace, gender bias, unfair treatment etc. but remember if you are sincere, hard working and have the required skills to grow then the system find out and will pull you up automatically.

There will always be failures and negativity around to test your character. Learn to cut the negative emotion generated out of temporary set backs. Focus on the long term goal and keep going. Momentum is the key.
